GALLIPOLIS, Ohio – Downtown Gallipolis and local businesses hosted the first “First Friday” event on May 5, 2017. The event took place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Court St. to Locust on 2nd Avenue. Participating businesses had lights strung outside, and also displayed a sticker in their windows to show that they were participating.
There was live music from Devin Henry, who performed at Saunders Insurance Agency, food and drink specials at the Colony Club, which also featured the Guiding Hand Student Gallery, and Evans Wealth Management hosted a gallery of Mary Lee Marchi’s photography. Also, the French City Academy offer babysitting services, during First Friday festivities, for parents who want to make it a kid-free night. Parents must complete a medical form, and they can contact the FCA at 740-446-4467 for more details on the babysitting service.
Erin Buckley, of River City Leather, stated “We are working to get people downtown and in local businesses. It’s meant to be an evening of fun for friends and family!”
