Armstrong got his musical start by singing the National Anthem, a Capella, at the home football and basketball games of area high schools and colleges.
Armstrong was granted two full-time presidential scholarships to Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in Winchester, Virginia and Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. He went on to the University of Akron, where he received a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
Armstrong has traveled throughout the United States, as a soloist, with the Central State University Singers. He also recorded two Grammy nominated albums with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.
